Help! First Build!

Ok so I thought I would build my own PC to save some money and gain some knowledge. So now I'm knee deep.

Specs: - E8400
- MSI P7N SLI
- NX8800GT 512mb
- WD 250GB SATA HD

Problems: I meticulously put this PC together with all new parts and two things are going on here 1) I turn the system on and nothing happens on the screen 2) No USB working, keyboard doesnt turn on, and speakers dont power up.

All the fans are working, the front panel switches are working. I've already followed the tips in the sticky including building outside the case, re-seating RAM and Video Card. The sticky mentioned jumpers, but I've no clue what those are?

So now I need some help guys. Thanks in advance!

If you followed the sticky, then you wouldn't be worrying about your hd, or fans other then cpu fan.

Make sure it's out of the case with only 1stick of ram, mb, cpu, heatsink, videocard, and psu. Motherboard on a piece of card board.

What power supply do you have, and what ram?

And the jumpers you're taling about I believe is the two that the power button connect to. Look in the motherboard manual to see which two they are. Then you would use a screwdriver (or other small metalic object) to connect them.

Try pressing the input button on the monitor, or the source button. Try a known working monitor too.

MOBO is out and assembled on a cardboard box. I made a stupid mistake...I didn't connect the 8 pin power supply to the CPU power. Which holds me back because my power supply only has 4 and 6 pin connectors.
