Standby button
Had a problem with my computer and wound up replacing the MOBO,power supply and formattingthe hard drive, When I reinstalled the Windows XP , every thing was OK except the standby button is blacked out on the screen where you shut down and can't get into standby mode. Is this a Windows problem or some thing with the board ?

Have you restarted? Also, what board do you have and what standby features does it support (IE: S1, S3, etc)?

Yes restarted many times, It's an FIC , KT748 with SiS chipset and an Athlon XP 3000 CPU. I don't have a clue as to standby features as it came without a manual.

Sounds like either motherboard drivers aren't installed, or you have a driver installed for something that isn't allowing your computer to display the option. Could also be how the bios is set. Google it and you will come up with a lot of hits:

Went to device manager and found that my video controller has a ? next to it. I put in a video card when I rebuilt the computer and I have not configured yet , I bet when I set up the card it will solve the problem. Thanks a lot, Pzza guy !
