1st build, everything ok except trying to put to sleep

Just did my first build, put vista business on it...everything is a ok, except the last few days whenever it goes to sleep (set to after an hr of no use) or if I sleep manually, it will do so for a minute or so. Then it comes back on and mobo makes a sound about 1-2 sec long and the vista login screen comes back on. The sound repeats every few minutes unless you log in. Checked all parts, everything seems ok. Checked manual for sound explanation, no help. Lights on mobo are normal. This is really annoying though, don't want to shut down every time.

On another note, core's are running 40-42 C w/no load, is this ok? Like I said, I'm very new to all of this, thanks for any help and I'm glad I went with building myself! Don't think I will ever buy pre-built again!

Check your power options in bios. Make sure it's not set to wake on lan, or anything else.

Thanks, will do....I tracked down the source in the Vista logs....it says "RTC" is the source that is waking it up....I have no clue what this is- any ideas?

The system has resumed from sleep.

Sleep Time: 9/11/2008 3:17:20 PM
