Windows boot up takes a long time!

Hey guys I notice recently that for some odd reason my computer will take 1-2 mins to show up the vista logo of the start up windows. After that is done it takes my desktop about 1 min untill programs run properly. It shows my desktop just fine but lets say if I open up My computer it will have a problem loading the drives...it usually takes 30 sec and after that everything is all fine until I turn off my computer and turn it back on. What could cause such a mess at the beginning?

Also I have add a sd card reader inside my pc
and windows update always have a error to the latest update..

Could be that you have a virus. Try running a full system scan. Could also be a bad hard drive.

They have utilities to check the drive on the hard drive manufactureers website.

I would also check to see how much you have starting with the computer. The more programs that start with windows, the longer it takes.

Also, you might want to try disconnecting all peripherals and then try starting up, and going to your computer. That might be casuing a problem.

Can you just plug it in when needed, and then unplug it when done? This way it won't affect startup times.
