£20/US$35 computer upgrade
so after my very successful build a couple of weeks ago (http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=200395, thanks all) i have an opportunity to spend about £20 on ebuyer.com and have it worth half as much, basicly an item i need has ~£10 shipping as the lowest option, whereas adding a £20 item would give free shipping, therefore effectivly making that item ~£10 off, so the question is, what's the best way to spend £20 on a new build for the best performance increase, i was thinking a cpu cooler, as it's currently stock, but please, all suggestions are welcome

Unless you're planning to overclock, I don't think a new cooler is going to make any worthwhile difference. As for other options, your computer is fine as is, you won't see any significant increases in performance for such a small purchase.

i realise im not expecting much of a performance boost, but to make things clearer: need to buy a £30 item, which has £10 P+P (S+H) makes £40, but postage is free above £50, so by adding a £20 (or a little more) item, i avoid the extortionate shipping charge, and the extra item effectively comes £10 cheaper, hope that clarifies

Some more peripheral ideas....why not some batteries (everyone always needs batteries!) or perhaps printer cartridges? I always get some of both when I do an eBuyer order so as to not have to pay shipping when I do need them.
