That is a solid build. (Lot of value with the CPU.) Power supply is what I have been building with and have had no issues at all but...not worth that money. Check out Corsair or PC power and Cooling's stuff. (For just a couple bucks more you'll get newer engineering and more power or a few dollars less and you get something similar w/newer tech.)

Notice that the PSU mounts sideways in that Thermaltake case and there is a mounting cage for a rear mounted case fan right next to it. Take that into consideration when purchasing the PSU. Fan orientation could be a problem with a bottom mounted cooling fan in the CPU.

I would stay away from Abit motherboards. They are getting out of the motherboard game, so go with a different brand. Asus makes good ones.

I would look at the 4850 video card instead.

I agree with bd1886, look at the Corsair 550 or 650 for that price.

Someone else could be able to comment on the cpu and suggest a motherboard if you want.

I like that power supply more.

And I believe the 4850 out performs the 9800gtx+ by a bit. It's a great value for the price.

I like that asus video card out of the two. It's core clock is a tad bit slower, but it's priced lower, and i trust asus brand.

I would stay away from kingston ram. Look at this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184

To be honest, don't get a quad core. judging by your GPU selections, i see you will be gaming a lot. Modern games don't support all four cores, so you will basically be using a 2.0 dual core unless you feel like running other things at the same time. Some new games are still optimized for single cores! Multicores like quads won't come into the gaming arena until a few more years from what i've heard.

would you recommend something more like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...me=Athlon%20X2
its about 100 cheaper, and if a dual core which is faster per core would serve me better than the quad...
