Question ATX Aftermarket Mobo in Dell Case?

I wasn't sure where to post this. In the case section, motherboard section, here? I should already know the answer to this question but well, I uh, don't. Can you install an aftermarket ATX mobo in a Dell case or HP case? Do they have the same standoff mounting screw pattern? I know both Dell and HP try to use proprietary everything but I've got a couple of old Dell cases sitting around that I'd love to use for a build. I've got the guts to my 5 year old previous build collecting dust and I'd love to get her running again and maybe install Linux on it but don't want to spend money on a case. What are my chances of it working? Will the power & reset buttons wire up?

I know most HP cases are just standard ATX and you can mount a aftermarket motherboard in them...the problem comes from the front panel connection. If it's separate connectors you'll be fine but if it's a single big connector that all the wires are connected to then it becomes a challenge.

I'm not sure if DELL cases follow the ATX format or not...I think they do. I know they use a big single front panel connector so hooking up the power button and what not isn't easy.
