Looking to see if i can OC this to 3.5-4.0Ghz(seen some at 3.8 on air). Kinda torn on the cpu was looking at the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.0GHz(seen some OC'ed at 4.0), $225 difference. What do you guys think?
MB i like due to that fact its future proof atm(so i hear), if theres anything you guys think would be better for same price that utilizes quad core and ddr3? Plus they have great OC utilities that comes with it
I heard Seagate is coming out with a 1.5TB harddrive dont know how much they cost but damn and i heard they are fast, should i wait? :P
Any suggestions on the memory?,hd?, or PS? I figured 1k would last me for future upgrades plus its modular, which is nice.
Basically my budget for these 8 items is $2,100 or close to it, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I personally don't think ddr3 is worth it. So I would change that and your motherboard.

I would also change the power supply. Look here for good brands.: What Power Supply should I get? How many Watts? Who made it? Guide Inside

A corsair 750 would be more than enough.

I would look at the seagate 7200.11 hard drives. 500gb is the sweet spot right now.

Here is the 1.5tb drive: http://www.buy.com/prod/seagate-1-5t...208921110.html

Don't for get the dvd drive.

Windows Ultimate really isn't worth it either. Home Premium should have everything you will need and want. Most seem to go for that.

Quads are nice, but if you want to get the fastest you can, then drop down to a faster dual core. E8500 is the sweet spot right now, and you will be able to oc that far beyond what you can the quads.

For a MOBO I would go with the Asus P5Q Pro.

Shadow is right.

DDR3 is not worth it on current platforms.
Here is a list that I made up, for SCKiller originally, if I'm not mistaken.
You can mix and match using it:

POTENTIAL BUILD LIST

Go with a 2x2gb kit if you are going with VISTA.

The basic p5q, or the p5q-pro would work.

Top that with some ddr2-800 ram. If you want to oc it, then look for ddr2-1000 or ddr2-1066. Corsair, or g.skill do nice.
