Ok all my parts arrived
I just have a question before I start the built. I have an asus p5q pro board with e8500 chip. I ordered an arctic cpu fan and arctic 5 thermal paste. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience applying this paste? I ordered oem .. therefore no manual. I read the online version but still kind of confused as to what I have to remove from the fan/heatsink. Thanks guys.

The Arctic Cooler heatsink should already be clean of thermal compound. The instructions you read may be for putting fresh compound on an existing heatsink.
About the easiest way to apply the Arctic 5 is put a small dot in the center of the CPU face then rap your finger in plastic and spread the compound out to an even coat. The compound should thin enough to almost read the writing on the CPU.
