First Buld Computer, No Video. No Mobo Stanoffs

I put together a computer for the first time. I have changed hard drives, fans, power supplies, a couple of times but it's my first time from scratch. I screwed the mobo without standoffs (i read its bad) i made sure cables are connected right from power supply to mother board and drives.
When plugging and powering the pc the fans will start spinning but no video signal at all. I know the monitor is working fine. Another thing is that when pressing the on/off switch and keep holding it so it will turn off, nothing happens it is still on, so i have to unplug it. what did i do wrong?

First thing you need to do is to reinstall the motherboard using standoffs. You are probably shorting out the system. Once you have done that, double check all of your connections including power dongles. Let's see where that gets us first.

Some cases have built in standoffs. What is the make and model of your case?

Does the system POST if you're building it OUTSIDE of the case?

Also what are your system specs?

Well, the mobo only came with 3 standoffs. and the case seems liek it has build in standoffs . looks like little bumps.

My case is an Xa combo pack performance series. (thats what it says in the box)
Mobo GeForceE6100SM-M
AMD Athlon 64 x2 dual core processor.
512 RAM

I uncrew the mobo and tested but no video... do i really have to test it outside the case?

You might want to try a different PSU first.

Raidmax PSUs are junk in general.

Bestec's are bad too.

I would try a different power supply. Buy a good quality one and test with that. Or try and borrow one from someone.
