Is it overclocked?

Is that temp when it's idle, or under load?

That seems a bit high. Sounds like your hsf isn't fully seated. It's a common problem when assembling a 775 skt mobo/cpu. Shut down the pc, open the case, check to make sure the 4 retaining pins are turned AGAINST the arrows. The arrows are the direction to turn the retainers when you REMOVE the hsf. The must be the opposite direction for installation. Push each pin and make sure it is fully seated. The best way to do this is with the mobo out of the case and supported underneath with one hand while you apply pressure on the retaining pin with the other. Then you can also visually verify that the pin has fully seated below the mobo.
