Best build out there?

So is their a link anywhere showing one of the best builds you can make currently?

Would this use nvidia or ati as the videocard. I see many benchmarks but just can't decide which video card would be the best. And looking to the future, which brand do you feel will be more future proof?

'Best' is too artibrary. The build always depends on what you want to do with your computer.

The great thing about video cards is that the connection they use, PCI-Express, is future-proof. You can always swap brands if the new models out perform the old.

What are you considering using for your build? And what is your budget? That will help us help you.

Well.. i would be building it for gaming. Budget is not too much of a concern. I would just be gradually getting the parts over time. I have a gaming laptop to hold me over. This is i just a project I always wanted to do and I am not in a huge hurry to get it done. I figure there will be good deals throughout the holidays.

and so my indecisiveness comes down to the video card. the 5780x2 or the GTX280. and it comes down to sli or crossfire. So that brings the motherboard into it right? A motherboard that supports SLI or crossfire... I am not sure which platform is the best... although I will agree they both seem to get the job the done.

The things I do know is that i will get an intel quad processor.

Not really a good idea to buy over time. Better to buy all at the same time. This will ensure that you get the best available for your money. It also protects you from getting a bad part and not being able to return it.

shadowpr offers good advice. Buying over time is not a good idea. Save your money until you have enough to get the whole package. Then buy what you need or want.
