Motherboard and Case problem
If i make a computer, the case I would get has 2 fans.
However, the motherboard(ASUS P5QL PRO) only has 1 I.O chassis fan connector. Does this mean that one fan will have to be out of use? |

No you can just connect case fans directly to the proper connector coming right out of the power supply.

Usually its the same connector type that powers up IDE drives. I have always used the inline connector that comes witht he fan. What type of connector is already there on the case fans you are in doubt of?

I don't actually know the connector of the case, I havent built it yet.
If you need specs then here you go. PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135159 CASE:http://www.ebuyer.com/product/115479 MOBO: http://uk.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=...07&modelmenu=2 |

You will be fine to just connect the other case fan directly to the PSU.

Yes that is what connector that many case fans come with, and if not there is an available adapter.

Lots of fans come with a converter to go from the 3 pin connector like you see on a motherboard to a 4 pin Molex connector; either that or they are 4 pin already and come with a converter to go to the 3 pin motherboard connectors.
Some larger 120 mm fans may require too many watts to work off of the standard motherboard 3 pin fan connectors. Some other 120mm fans may also be varible speed or have a 3 or 4 way setting to make them run faster or slower. Just look at the pictures for the fans on www.newegg.com to get an idea of what you are looking at. Either that or look in a friends box of spare parts. It is hard to tell from the pictures how much noise they make so look at db rating and airflow ratings and rotational speeds. |

if you plan on putting in more fans you could also use this.
