PC Build Help Advice

Hey. I am looking into buying a new comp and building it and was looking for some advice or input on parts. I am trying to build a budget PC for now.

My budget, desirably, is around $500-$650. I am looking to use it for mostly gaming (Left 4 Dead, Diablo II (in the future Diablo III), WC3, CSS, etc..) Also I intend to use it for music, programming, and 3-D digital media.

I'd be salvaging my speakers, monitor, mouse, and keyboard from current PC to help towards my new build and save me money. Anyways here are the parts I chose out. If anyone can give some advice and help me try to fit what I need that'd be great.

Parts.....

Case + PSU Combo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811156098

Mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130182

Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130378

CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103211

RAM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184

HD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148230

CD Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151173

OS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116485

Right now the total comes around $540-ish.

I am also wondering if I'd be better off going with an Intel or AMD CPU? WinXp vs Vista? On the video card I don't plan to use SLI features so are there types of cards without that feature yet perform just as well for a cheaper price?

Thanks much in advance.

More expensive but well worth it. I know your on a budget, but you gotta spend more money here.

Again for what you want to do you need a better video card like this one, no savings here...

Little bit better optical for same price..

ATI chipset is the way to go, mainly the 700 series since it will be compatible with Phenom II try this...

Memory nice

Hard drive meh...7200.11 would be nice but you gotta save money somewhere..for 15 more smackers you can get a drive with 16mb cache

Of course 32 Mb cache is always nicer for 30 more bucks, not to mention the additional space

CPU...like the Brisbane

Case up to you

Sorry I'm saying to spend more money, but if you want to game decently, this rig will set you up nicely. Hopefully i didn't brake the bank too much. Good Luck!

Ditch the Raidmax case and CPU. Neither are good quality. The 32-bit Vista will not see all 4GB's of RAM

Thanks for the advice Josh. In all honesty I can spend around $1000-below but prefer to just spend enough for what I need to get by, I'll future upgrade when it's necessary. I'm cheap when it comes to money hah. Luckily "Black Friday" will likely aid that heh.

On the case I decided to go with Antec: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129042

@ Not Important: I know that the 32-bit OS doesn't support the 4th GB but it seems if i purchase 4GB I save a little bit than getting 3GB. Is it worth just getting 64 bit than?

Put it this way... when I built my new system just a few weeks ago, I figured for the extra $4.00 is cost me to get the 64 bit over the 32bit... why would one buy the 32bit?

GiG....I would also get the 4GB if it is a better deal and it won't hurt a thing.
