Erasing a Hard drive for new computer Build?

Hello all,

I am going to purchase parts for a new computer, but I have a 250gb SATA hard drive that I want to use from my pervious computer. The hard drive has already been taken out of the computer, but I need to "erase" everything from the hard drive so I dont have any problems when I put this in to the new computer. If i was to purchase this

can I just plug this into my laptop and erase from the USB adapter? And how exactly do I do this?

Thanks

if its going to be the boot drive in the new computer then you shouldnt need to erase anything, when you put the install disk for the new system in it should be able to just write over everything on there, infact if it already has an OS on it you may be able to just plug it in and go, although the drivers would most likely need sorting out

Just plug it in to your new machine, boot from your OS CD and allow the installtion process to format the drive.
