striker's new build
whoops sorry about the tite I put it as that when I was previewing the post and forgot to change it :s
Hey I posted up about a month ago interested in building a rig and I have spent the last month chopping and changing and I think I have come up with a list (finally! lol) Antec Twelve Hundred Ultimate Gamer case NEC Optiarc AD-7201S 20x Internal DVDRW Lightscribe Black - SATA Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz (Retail 775) CPU BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 1024MB PCI-E 2.0 Graphics card Corsair 750W TX Series PSU 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1 SATA2 7200RPM 32MB cache hard drive Asus Maximus Extreme iX38 Socket 775 Motherboard Corsair 6GB PC3-10666 Triple XMS3 DDR3 Kit (3 x 2GB) But I have a few queries, Is that mobo compatible with that RAM? Is the PSU powerful enough? Will the 1200's fans be enough cooling? Last edited by striker833; 11-29-2008 at 05:09 AM. |

The power supply is more than enough.
Memory will work fine on that motherboard. Cooling should be more than adequate. For hdds, why not go with Seagate? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148274 As for optical drives, why not go with Lite-On? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827106266 |

I would drop the mb to a p5q, and then get some ddr2-800 2x2gb ram.
That will save you a bit of money.
