old one broke
i have built a few computers for myself and family but it has been a while and i have not kept up with the latest and greatest. my wife's computer i built several years ago died, i need to build a good solid computer for general use (no gaming - no overclocking etc. ) i have a good external serial modem ( only have dial-up here) that i want to use and there are not many boards with serial ports available. i have used intel and asis in the past but they don't seem to have many boards with serial available . what i have found is a- GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L LGA 775 Intel G31 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - on newegg and an- Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core - will these be compatible and is the Gigabyte board a stable board , the board fsb is 1333/1066 the processor is fsb 800 will this be a problem?
also i was wondering about the power supply is this one sufficient- FSP Group SAGA+ 450R 450W ATX12V - i see a lot recommending much higher watts, back when i built my last ones 350w was enough for most builds. appreciate any help.

That PSU should OK for what you are doing.
You might take a look at this Asus MOBO: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131350 |
