Decent build?

I havent been on pcmech for awhile, but i think i might have the extra cash to get a new comp. not too sure yet, but I went ahead and found some parts. The amazing thing is i was able to make a new build for under 700 including case and monitor.
I remember it use to cost over 1000dollars to get a half decent build. (maybe a sign of the economy?) lol
Well, without further delay hows the compatibility with this build? And is there any way to make it cheaper? I am not looking for the most powerful gaming computer available, but something that can play some of the newer games maybe at medium graphic settings. Also, am i missing anything, ive been out of the arena for so long?

Motherboard: ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 Wolfdale 2.53GHz 3MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor

RAM: Kingston 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)

VIDEO CARD: MSI N9500GT MD512 D3 GeForce 9500 GT 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported

OPTICS: SAMSUNG Black 22X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 16X DVD+R DL 22X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 22X DVD Burner - OEM

HARDDRIVE: SAMSUNG SpinPoint T Series HD501LJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

The total without monitor and case and before tax/shipping...
$464.93

again, any advice on making it cheaper would be much appreciated and if someone with better knowledge about current technology could tell me if all of this were compatible would be great. Also, any advice on a high contrast good glossy monitor?

I would substitute the Samsung DVDRW for a Lite-On or LG, the Samsung hard drive for a Seagate and the RAM for 2X1GB sticks. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145034

Looks pretty good, though I would suggest these if you could swing them:

Corsair 2x2GB PC2-6400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184

Seagate 7200.11 500GB

Samsung drives aren't that reliable.

I would take a look at a different video card, the 9500GT is basically a 8600GT, take a look at getting this one instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161262 (The HD4650 is a lot faster than the 9500GT)
I would also take a look at a different optical drive, I've had good luck with Lite-On and LG.
Everything else looks pretty good.

The comparison is pretty bad though, comparing a ~$50 to a ~$100 card isn't going to help much in determining how good a card is. They should have compared the HD4650 with the 9500GT.
