First Build

Yeah, first build. First time building a complete new PC, going to be used mainly for gaming. I already have speakers, mouse, etc. Just looking to build the PC itself.

Graphics card;
XFX GeForce 9800GT 512MB PCI-E 2.0
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=34138

Motherboard;
Gigabyte GA-EP43C-DS3 iP43 Express Socket 775 Motherboard
http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/...roductId=34262

Hard Drive;
1Tb Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.B SATA-2 Hard Drive 16MB Cache
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=34559

Memory;
OCZ 4GB PC2-6400 Reaper HPC (2x2GB)
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...34468&context=

Processor;
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 3.16GHz (Retail 775)
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=30244

I've got PSU and Case already, although unsure which size of PSU to go for. Currently have a 400w which am planning on upgrading. Other than that, I've not included OS or DVD drives, I'll worry about them later. Advice on cooling would be great, also unsure of what memory to go for. I'm hoping to use the PC for gaming, any help on what to upgrade/change would be highly appreciated...

Thanks

I would go with a Seagate hard drive. Cooling will be somewhat dependent on your case. A stock heatsink/fan will be fine if the case has adequate airflow. 400W PSU is a bit small but it should be sufficient if it is a good one.

Would get this ram instead: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=27910

Agree with NI about getting a seagate hard drive instead.

Also, try and tell us what psu you have, cause it may be a bad brand and you will have to upgrade it.

Yopu might want to consider this motherboard instead: http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/...roductId=32295

and you didn't include a dvd drive: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=34465

Right, thanks very much guys, yeah I'm gonna go with those changes, looks good. I've added a DVD drive now, left it out as it wasn't much of a biggy and couldv'e used an old one, but I might aswell add it. Thanks again for the help.
