Need some final advice before buying components

Hi this is my first time building a computer and I've decided to build a Gaming rig. The games I wanna play are like Bioshock or Crysis like everyone else who builds a Game rig goal is.
My budget is around $950 and I've already chosen the components just wanted some final advice on these and wanted your opinions if this would make a solid machine.
Also if possible save me some money
I already have a Windows Vista 64bit OS and keyboard w/mouse ready for the computer so we can take those out of the picture.

Another question aswell is would this be linux ubuntu compatible just asking if anyone could answer that but if not thats ok.

Avoid Raidmax PSUs. They are junk.

Here is a suggestion:

LG opticals are fine. Lite-On opticals are what is generally suggested around these forums so you may want to take that into consideration.

As for the processor fan/heatsink... stick with the one included with the processor. This will allow you to keep the factory warranty on the processor intact.

That video card might struggle a bit with crysis. You will have to probably lower the settings.

Other than that, I agree with Minsonngo about the power supply, and about not getting the aftermarket heatsink unless you plan on overclocking.

If you get a cheaper case, you could get a better video card, or better monitor with a 2ms response time.

AVOID the Raidmax PSU! If you would like to save money on the case, as shadowpr suggested, the Antec 300 is about the same case without the lights and the plexiglas window.

Awesome thanks for the info ill avoid the Raidmax PSU (didn't know they were junk =/) and go with your suggestion on the other power supply. And i think i might go with a cheaper case to save money and buy a better graphics card. I don't plan on overclocking yet and so ill stick with the advice about not getting the fan. Wow already saving $27(not buying the fan) great info thanks. =]
