Bios/OS issues New Build

So I finally got past the black screen of nothingness and into bios and first load of my windows vista 64..

The mobo booklet adv to leave all set on default which I was fully prepared to do. I planned on loading my OS and then going in afterwards and making sure of all the timings etc...

Heres my prob.

I can get it to start the download of Vista but when it gets to the part where it's halfway done with the download it will reboot. Unfortunately this just reboots it to the press f1 and then I lose everything the windows downloaded....or rather I still have all of the previous download up until the point where it reset the pc...If I go to redownload it says windows is on the pc and shows the drive space used but I cant just use repair to finish the download..if I select to download it just sucks up more drive space and does the same thing..

vicious cycle..

Is there a simple way around this or should I make the new drive the slave to my old IED drive with XP on it and then load the Vista onto the slaved new hd??
