New PC not turning on.
I attempted my first PC build over the holidays and after building all the basics (PSU, MB, Memory, Video, Processor, and ect.) I went to turn the computer on. When I do so I get a small attempt which I would describe as a small surge of power that gets everything to start to spin and the lights to turn on but immediately turns back off (we are talking only a flash no sustained movement or action at all.) After which the front LED flashes until the computer is reset via the front button or simply turned off then back on. So I tried turning it on several times and one time I actually got everything to turn on and work, however I didn't have a monitor available and was only trying to make sure the PC would start up, so I just let it warm up then I turned it back off. It has not repeated this performance since that one time.
What are the potential things that would be causing this? And where should I start to make sure all the connections are good. As a note I am still missing one cable to power the disc drive so all I am looking for right now is for the system to start up even if it can’t do anything once it does. Intel i7-920 Proccessor Intel DX58SO Motherboard (processor and board were in a bundle) HIS Radeon HD 4850 IceQ4 1GB Vid Card Apevia ATX-LCD750W Quartz 750W Power Supply Wintec AmpX 3072MB PC10666 DDR3 1333MHz (3-1GB sticks) NZXT Apollo ATX Mid-Tower Seagate 250Gb Serial ATA Any help would be appreciated. Try this: PROBLEMS with a NEW BUILD? Try This!!
It sounds like you might have forgot to put the standoff in the case. Also check to make sure you have both the 24 pin, and 4 pin power connectors connected to the motherboard. If you still can't get a post screen after following that guide, post back and list all parts, make and model, including power supply.

Make sure the 6-pin PCI-E power supply connector is connected to the video card as well.

From what I can find out that error is an ATI drivers problem with Vista.
