No Display!! first timer

I recently bought all the parts needed to build a good computer--now i know how to put together a computer, but you could say that im not the brightest computer savvy fellow. However i built the computer without any real issues at first and when i finaly did my first boot---bam...no display on the monitor whatsoever. The weird part is that all of the LEDs are lit fine, all the fans running (even the video card fan) and everything seems flawless. I tested it on 3 different monitors and the same problem stays consistant. Im stuck and am in desperate need of some true help.

Here's my system hardware:::
PSU- Corsair TX650w
MOBO- Biostar TA770 A2+ (AMD)
VGA- EVGA GeForce GTX 260
CPU- AMD Athlon X2 6000
HD- Western Digital caviar blue 640gb
RAM- G.Skill 2x2gb
CASE- NZXT Guardian 921

Are you getting any beep codes out of the internal speaker?? Usually in cases like yours it's just something not seated properly like the processor heat sink fan, the memory, or the vid card, or sometimes improper mounting of the motherboard will have a short to the case on the back side of the motherboard. Here is the new build troubleshooting thread:

Also double check that you plugged in the video card power cable.

Did you try changing the input or source on the monitor to digital?

I don't hear any beeping when i turn it on and i double checked all of the positions of the things you listed, however i do see an odd red light being emitted from my motherboard, right next to my graphics card. There's nothing listed about that light in the Motherboards user manual, maybe that has something to do with it? Also, this will definitely sound like a 10 year old's question but how can i tell if the hard drive is working/on at all?

For now, don't worry about the hard drive. Follow the instrustions in the link that ktkendall posted.

After you have the main compnents working, then we will worrry about the hard drive.

You can tell a hard drive is spinning by listening and touching. When you touch it, you should be able to feel some slight vibrations. The spinning also makes a low noise. After the fans, it should be the loudest part.

Yep, double check and make sure you have the CPU heatsink/fan installed correctly.

Make sure you have the 24-pin and 4/8-pin power supply connectors connected to the motherboard. And the 6-pin PCI-E power connector secured from the PSU to the video card.

still no display

I followed all of the instructions that were written down in the thread that Hal9000 posted and even still, no display on my monitor. Much like when i turn on the computer when all of the parts are assembled in the case, all of the fans turn on,= and everything looks fine but the monitor's display still hates me. What do i do now?

You either have a faulty component, which if you did the bare bones out of the case step, then that brings it down to the power supply, motherboard, processor, memory, or vid card, or something is not seated proper, and many times on new builds it is the processor/heat sink fan not seated proper, or the fan leads not hooked into the proper spot on the motherboard.

Well I just now reinstalled the pc chip/heatsink and it seems to me that it's in the proper place and everything. I also used a different stick of RAM and plugged it into 3 different RAM slots. If you'd ask me, i would say that the problem is a faulty graphics card. What do you guys think?

I would be leaning more towards the motherboard, could be something as simple as the BIOS needs to be updated. Or could be the motherboard is DOA.
What speed is the ram? Need to run DDR2-800.

Yea, my RAM's speed is DDR2 800. I guess i just need to test another graphics card on my motherboard, that should rule out the possibility of a faulty card if I'm incorrect

Have you tried clearing the CMOS/BIOS settings?

Not sure if the list on BIOSTAR's website is updated...

But the processor you have does NOT show up on the SUPPORTED CPU list for that particular board.

And can a Processor that does not show up on that list result in no display when booted up?

Yes if the chipset on the motherboard does not recognize the processor, then you get nothing at bootup. Usually there is a little jumper on the motherboard for clearing the cmos, check the manual for that, or just take the battery out for a minute then put it back in.
