Trouble booting
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I put together a new computer consisting of an ASUS P5W DH DELUXE MOBO, Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 CPU, 4GB Kingston 240pin DDR2, WD5001AALS SATA hard drive, ATI Radeon X1950PRO graphics card, and a Pioneer DVR-710 into an Antec 1200 case, using 500w power supply. After clearing the cmos. I tried booting off of the dvr drive; windows XP. Message reads 'set up did not find any hardisk drive installed in your computer. Make sure any hard disk drive are power on and properly connected to your computer, and that any disk related hardware configuration is correct.' It's my first time installing a SATA drive and I'm not a 100% I understand Raids either. I purchased one 500 gig hard drive and I'm planning to get two more in the future. I would like to set up the computer first. Thanx-in-advance for any suggestions. |

You need the SATA controller drivers on a floppy disk. You press F6 at the beginning of setup when prompted to install them. You also need a XP CD with at least SP1 on it to see more than 128gb on that drive.
