Help with $2000 gaming build please
Hey guys,
I have just been given the assignment of building my mates PC, his budget is $2000. I have not been keeping up to date with the latest technologies for the last 6 months so i am not quite sure where to start, if you could give me a basic parts list it would be great. I would prefer Intel over AMD, and a Nvidea GPU. I was thinking Quad core, some ddr3, 1tb hdd, and as far as a MB, i have no clue. |

I'm not quite ready to jump on the i7 and DDR3 bandwagon yet. For the most bang for the buck, I'm still looking at Q9xxx series quad cores on P45 boards with DDR2. If you want to hold out for i7, I'd recommend you wait about 6 months to let the dust clear - the current motherboards do have some issues.

If you're going Vista I'd get the 64Bit.

No need for that premium ram - standard DDR2-800 is plenty good enough. You can also save some cash and get the standard P5Q or P5Q Pro.
