1st Build - Gaming

Hey there,

i've been wanting a new computer for a while now and i figured that i should build one. i'm looking to spend around $900 (i don't need a monitor, speakers, or a keyboard). i'm not aiming to bring crysis to it's knees, but i still want a respectable machine. i'll mainly be playing stuff like team fortress 2, left 4 dead, and half life 2 (pretty much valve/steam games). i have no preference of intel or amd (i'm new to this). so i've put together a list of parts and i would like to know if they're compatible/good/bad/etc...

also, if i could get noticeably better performance by paying a little bit more, could you let me know?

thanks

Looks as though you've done your homework. If you intend on using the DVDRW for movie DVD copying I would suggest an LG over the Lite-On. If not, the Lite-On will be great. Best of luck.
Follow this guide when you get your parts and it should go smooth. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=132409
