Please can someone help with wiring my TJ07 case

Hi there

I'm having problems finishing wiring up my case - anyone got experience with this case who can help please.

I have one grey cable with 2 10 pin plugs at the end - one marked AZALIA and the other AC '97 – I’m guessing that this is for the headphone and mic jacks but I can’t see any reference to this in the motherboard manual and can’t see anywhere obvious on the board itself where these 2 should go.

I have one black cable – with 1 10 pin plug and 7 single pin ones - the main one is marked 1394 - I've found the firewire connector on the motherboard but that is just 10 pin - what do I do with the single pins? The single pins are marked TPA+, TPA-, TBP+, TBP-,VP,VG, Shield

http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...Build/PC10.jpg

Then I have 4 cables for the usb ports and the Board has "3 connectors supporting 6 USB ports" – The connectors are 10 pin and the plugs have 4 pins +1. But I'm stumped as to how to plug them in - not least because there are only 9 pins in the connector

Hope someone can help ?

Whoops sorry about that - let's try again - I'll post the whole thing again so the photos follow the right bit of text

1. Depends which audio mode you have selected in the bios - if you have Azalia (Intel HD) selected, you use that connector, if you have AC97 enabled, you use that connector. It goes on the front panel audio header on the mobo. Tie the unused one back.

2. Tie the single pins back.

3. VCC goes at the end opposite the missing pin. Pair your leads up, connect one of the 2 shield leads to the 5th pin in the one row, tie the other shield lead back.

Try this:

And as glc says, just tie the one marked "shield" back out of the way.

Thank you both very much

Out of interest what are the single pins attached to the firewire cable for?

One other mystery - there doesn't appear to be anything to plug into the front panel connector for the system beep speaker - is it possible there isn't one

The single pins are for Firewire headers that do not follow the standard. They are alternate connectors. Yes, it's very possible your case does not have a speaker - more and more motherboards now have a piezo speaker mounted on the board.

If you are refering to the motherboard in your signature check page 2-37 of your manual. (System Panel connector (20-8 pin Panel))

Thanks again - Yes I'd seen the bit on page 2-37 which is why I was wondering why I had nothing to plug in there

That could be an issue now as I can't get the system to run and can't hear any beeps ;-)

At first it wouldn't boot at all - but power was getting to the board (the power and reset buttons on the board were lit)

I'd put one of the chassis fan rpm wires into the pwr_fan connector which I wasn't sure was right and sure enough when I removed that it booted up without any problems

I installed XP pro but when it asked me which disk to format and install to the size of the disk looked wrong (about 130,000 Mb from memory?) - both disks showed as the same size but they should be 1Tb each.

Anyway, perhaps foolishly, I went ahead and installed Windows. That went fine but Windows is saying the disk is 127Gb

Can anyone telll me why that is and how to corrrect it please?

Unfortunately I can't remember what the BIOS said about the size of the disks - if it did - but I know it recognised both of them. It didn't recognise the 2 drives I installed from an old PC but that's somehting I'll have to come back to!

I can't check that now anyway because I shut the PC down last night and it won't come on again this a.m.

First time it started for a second or two - fans started to spin - but then stopped suddenly - now I can't get any life out of it at all - just the power and reset lights on the board.

So that's my second plea for help - any suggestions please?

Rob
