Building budget PC for brother need help!

I'm building a computer for my brother and all he uses the computer for is browsing the web and editing music. No games but he might wanna be able to add a video card in the future. So he doesn't need anything fancy. He's budget is around $250 He already has a 17 inch lcd hp monitor and a keyboard, mouse, xp 32 bit and a 640 gig wd hard drive.

This is what I have picked out so far.

CASE

MOTHERBOARD

CPU

RAM

POWER SUPPLY
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371005

CD/DVD
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136152

$282.53 after shipping....a little over budget. Any suggestions? I know he'll use this computer for a long time so I'd like to build something that will last.

Everything you picked out is good, you may want to look into building an intel for cheaper.

Welcome to PCMech.

Looks like a fine list. I'd suggest just a couple more bucks on this Antec Basiq 500w power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371019 It will give him room to add a decent video card later.
