Building budget PC for brother need help!
I'm building a computer for my brother and all he uses the computer for is browsing the web and editing music. No games but he might wanna be able to add a video card in the future. So he doesn't need anything fancy. He's budget is around $250 He already has a 17 inch lcd hp monitor and a keyboard, mouse, xp 32 bit and a 640 gig wd hard drive.
This is what I have picked out so far. CASE http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119161 MOTHERBOARD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813186141 CPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103211 RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820134730 POWER SUPPLY http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371005 CD/DVD http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136152 $282.53 after shipping....a little over budget. Any suggestions? I know he'll use this computer for a long time so I'd like to build something that will last. |

Everything you picked out is good, you may want to look into building an intel for cheaper.

Welcome to PCMech.
Looks like a fine list. I'd suggest just a couple more bucks on this Antec Basiq 500w power supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371019 It will give him room to add a decent video card later.
