Another boot Problem, With OS inst.

Hello, I just finished my first build. Pretty nube-ish, I got it all put together and it turned on.
So far so good. Then I put in the OS (Vista) and it brings up the Blue screen. I then tried windows xp, and it got about 1/4th of the the way through please wait loading and it stopped.
I then tried Ubuntu (for grins and giggles) and I got to 13% of download and it stopped. I just have no other ideas other than a mobo issue. There are no beeps during boot, and cd is primary startup in bios. So any ideas may help, thank you.

each time it stopped, it should have given you a error that tell you why it stopped.
some common possibilties are:

1. poor heatsink contact on the cpu.
2. ram not fully seated or bad.
3. power supply weak/low voltage.
4. bios not set up correctly
