Well after realising that i was being pretty retarded and didnt do much research on the forums before posting i have changed my hardware list and would like some opinions on it. (i apologise for being stupid im assuming you guys get that type of stuff alot)
COOLER MASTER Centurion 534 RC-534-KKN2-GP Black Aluminum & Mesh bezel / SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail Model #:RC-534-KKN2-GP ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail Model #:P5Q Pro SAPPHIRE 100245L Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Retail Model #:100245L Antec Basiq BP500UB 500W ATX12V Version 2.01 Active PFC Power Supply - OEM Model #:BP500UB Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400 - Retail Model #:BX80570E8400 G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK - Retail Model #:F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK Western Digital Caviar RE2 WD1601ABYS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM Model #:WD1601ABYS LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH22NS30 - OEM Model #:GH22NS30 windows xp pro oem and would arctic silver 5 be a good idea or should i be with the stuff it comes with. i dont plan on doing any overclocking off the back seeing as ive never done it before and not sure i will ever attempt but i would like to keep my options open if im not going to have to sacrifice to do so. Also what would be a descent monitor for around $150?? |

You won't need the arctic silver for now since the retail cpu comes with a pre-installed patch ( and messing with that will void the warranty. ) .
It's an unfortunate fact that hard drives fill up fast I would double the size of that hard drive to 320 GB. Did you download the qvl (qualified vendor list) for that motherboard at the Asus web site ? Your first choice for memory should be from that list in order to avoid possible problems. For a monitor this one should fit your budget : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001307 http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/d.../XA&fullspec=F and with the rebate it's a no brainer. The 19" Samsung widscreens continue to be an excellent deal for a tight budget.
