First Build in a Long Time. Need help

Greetings friends.

I haven't built a computer since high school (back with the AMD 2500+) was the thing to have and have finally considered getting a new computer. I have done most of the research involved but I am still anxious about any endeavor involving this much time and money if anything should go wrong.

Here are my parts:

I already have the monitor, mouse and speakers. Is there anything I am missing? What do you guys think? Any suggestions on the build on in building the computer in general?

Missing the motherboard, and operating system and a dvd drive.

I would change that hard drive to a caviar black. That will give you the 5 year warranty.

Sorry about that! I was copying from my cart and I guess I didn't transfer everything from my wish list.

That list looks fine. I'd swap for an LG or LiteOn drive that comes with burning software. Also, keep in mind that XP Pro 32bit will not show all 4GB of RAM (but you can still use it).

Thanks so much Alaron. With you advice I added the LiteOn onto my cart instead of the samsung. I am aware of not being able to use all 4 gigs but the cost of buying a new OS (Home Premium 64 bit for 350 or Professional 64 bit) seems like a lot of money for an extra 800 megabytes of ram.

Would this motherboard be a sufficient replacement for the ASUS one linked above?

If your going with a phenom II its best to stick with the 790 northbridge, something like this...

or a gigabyte option
