Revision of new build

Hello again. As some of you might have known, I came here about two months ago for some advice on a new build (actually it was my first one) here: new build advice. After some serious thinking I decided to change it to this:

Antec TruePowerTrio 550W Power Supply

Thermaltake SopranoRS101 Computer Tower Case with 430W PSU

PNY Verto GeForce 9600GT Video Card (512MB 256-bit GDDR3, PCI Express 2.0 x16, HDCP Ready SLI Supported)

WESTERN DIGITAL 320GB SERIAL ATA/300 16MB BUFFER RETAIL BOXED HARD DRIVE

Asus M3N78-VM AM2+ Motherboard

LG Black 20X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 20X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 20X DVD?R

2GB DDR2 PC6400 MEMORY / PATRIOT

AMD Phenom II X4 940 Black

So what do you think?

Get a case without a power supply and I'd say you have a very nice budget gamer/home theater system.

That board has an Nvidia chipset, bad idea with a phenom II. I highly suggest something with an AMD chipset, particularly the 790 series. Fry's doesn't really have much in terms of the 790, but the 780 will do...

But even better from new egg is the 790...

Hope that helps!

Hmmm looks good. I'll probably change it to that motherboard. I'll also remove the Antec power supply because the power supply that comes with the case is enough for me. Does the Nvidia graphics card work with the chipset?

I would stay away from the case with the included PSU. The particular PSU included is not specified, you may be getting a hunk of junk. If you really want that case i would suggest getting it separately from new egg and getting a high quality PSU... for example...

Case

PSU

This will set you back a few more clams, but definitely a nicer set up. I will let someoe else comment of the GPU, not my thing, but i can tell you better go AMD....

I can't order online so I have to get it at retail stores. Frys is the only store I found that has the case. I'll just buy another power supply: Antec Basiq 350W Power Supply (the other one I originally isn't available anymore)

A 350 watt power supply won't be adequate for you.
500 watts or more is what you should be looking for.

Yes like that one.
For a gamer that's the basic entry level power supply .

PCMech has a power supply guide you should read through : What Power Supply should I get? How many Watts? Who made it? Guide Inside
