Are you planning to overclock?
If not, this RAM would be fine: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820145184 $29.99 after $30 rebate. Are you planning to game? This card would be better for it: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161259 $129.99 after $10 rebate. Do you have an O.S, or are you planning to use LINUX? If not, this windows is recommended: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116488 $99.99 Stock cooling should be fine unless you're overclocking. The rest looks ok. Hope you like

The heatsink you listed seems like overkill for your processor; the phenom 9600 doesn't overclock too well and also doesn't produce too much heat; a heatsink such as this might be a better more economical choice: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835185125.
I don't think it makes sense to use the higher end 790GX chipset for a low-end phenom such as the 9600; a solid 780G based motherboard would work fine and save a good amount of money: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131324. You don't need to overclock the processor in order to take advantage of DDR2-1066; however you should check to make sure that the board supports it; a lot of DDR2-1066 ram has trouble running at that speed. You might want to take a look at getting less expensive DDR2-800 ram since DDR2-1066 won't do much for you in terms of increasing performance. The HD3850 is getting a bit old (and 1GB won't really do much unless you have a 24 inch monitor or larger) and has trouble keeping up with newer games; for the same price you could go with a faster HD3870: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102719, or for a bit more you could go for a HD4830 which has double the shader processors of either the HD3850 or HD3870: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102803

Okay, sorry I didn't post this before (I was in a hurry and had other stuff to do
)but this computer will be used for multitasking (say 10 browsers, 4-5 big programs, email, and multiple folders open at once) and (if possible) I would also like it to be able to edit HD video (using sony vegas 8) without bogging it down. I would like it to have the ability to support a 25" monitor, and a HD tv. The bad news is I can't spend more than $1000.00 on it including monitor. So if you guys can suggest a build that would be great .Multitasking is the most important part, because it will be a business computer. I might do some overclocking if I can get all the parts I need. It will also be used for some light gaming (nothing high end) but I do need a graphics card that can handle video editing preview and a HD tv. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, ~Fisher P.S.I'm not set on any particular parts right now, |

The 4850 I posted should be fine, and so should the RAM that you originally posted as you've now described your usage

Smart, would you need a terabyte?
If not you could get a WD CAVIAR BLACK 500GB and then have Vista Home Premium 64-bit. There are alot of bugs with 64-bit XP, I hear. HD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136320 $74.99 VISTA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16832116488 $99.99 If i take out the others and put mine in, the build comes to: $969.80 |

Asus VH226H 2ms HDMI widescreen 1080p monitor $189.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236051 specs are similar & this one has quicker response times & HDMI, well worth the 2.1 inches in size difference... at least to me, plus its $40 cheaper

It's never a bad idea to get more storage; you will always be adding new data to the computer. Even if you don't manage to use most of the space; hard drives which have a higher percentage of free space run faster than drives which are fuller. |

If you're planning to use SD cards with the card reader you might want to look for one that says it can handle SDHC (4GB and above). Of my four assorted card readers, none say they're SDHC-compatible and only one actually works with SDHC cards.

Can't say I've heard of that monitor brand. I'd stick with something better known like Samsung, Acer, Viewsonic.
The build list looks good. I'd go with the RAM kit that Masaki suggested earlier. No reason to spend so much on just one 4GB stick.

Well what I was thinking is the mobo in my last post can handle 16GB of ram so if I put a 4GB stick in then I'll be able to upgrade it later to the max without having to take ram out. Do you think I would be able to take full advantage of the 16GBs of ram if I installed vista 64bit? Thanks, ~Fisher |

64Bit Vista could handle lots of RAM sure, but the point is that you'd never need that much.

I bought a 6 pack of these monitors and returned all of them the same day I got them. Thank God it didn't cost me anything! Each one had dead pixels, well 4 out of 6 I should say, the other two were dead and it sounded like there were pebbles in the monitor. Stay away from these and Tiger, I have not had very good luck with them.
