Question ASUS EZ Flash 2 Help

Upon completion of my build I was having issues with sleep mode in windows vista. I was able to put the system to sleep but not able to wake the system up. I had to hit the reset button and the system would resume. In order to remedy the problem i decided to update the BIOS. I have an ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus Motherboard and I downloaded the latest version of the BIOS off of the ASUS website. I then used the ASUS update utility to flash the BIOS within the operating system. The update appeared to run smoothly and i was prompted to restart the system. Upon restart the system showed the black screen that says the system had been shut down improperly and i selected start windows normally. Windows then started to load, but after several seconds a blue screen popped up, the system reset itself, and the process repeated. I reasoned that something must've corrupted the BIOS so i attempted to use the ASUS EZ Flash 2 utility to install an earlier version of the driver, as i am still able to access the BIOS setup utility. I copied a different version of the BIOS onto a USB flash drive and ran the EZ Flash 2 utility but the utility didn't register the USB drive. Does anybody have any experience with the ASUS EZ Flash 2 utility and if so do you know how to properly use it to flash the BIOS...the manual is extremely vague. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The USB drive must be connected directly to the mobo, meaning no front ports, must be in back. Shut down comp, plug in drive, then start up and that should work.

I have successfully used the case USB ports on several occasions so that shouldn't be an issue.
Enable booting from USB in the Bios. Shut the PC down, insert the USB stick and reboot the PC.

Does the flash drive need to be formatted a certain way?

Okay. So I plugged the USB flash drive into one of the motherboard USB ports, powered on the system, and entered the EZ Flash 2 Utility. It loaded three different drive: A, B, and C, and it appeared that neither of the drives contained the BIOS information. Does anything special need to be done with formatting the BIOS file or the flash drive?

Does the flashdrive have any folders on it? Even if the BIOS file is in the root, I've found EZ Flash always openes the flashdrive inside a folder, if any exist.

No, only the BIOS is stored on the flash drive

Did you unzip the downloaded Bios file before putting the file on the USB drive as instructed in the link I posted?

The EZ Flash utility registers my USB drive as B: but when I select it, nothing appears in the directory. Has anybody heard anything about replacing the BIOS chip. Would that likely solve my problem? I use my my computer extensively for school and need to get back up and running ASAP
