WoW build ($500 budget) ... GO!

All right, so i'm being lazy (not so much, just busy as hell), and someone I know would like for me to compile a parts list. This PC's sole purpose will be to run WoW and Starcraft 2, which I know doesn't require much, but the more intel setup's I seem to put together, the more trouble I run into. I keep going just over $500. (I could go with a cheaper video card and less RAM, but I want it to run half way decent).

I am thinking that an AMD setup will give him more bang for his buck in this situation, but I don't know a whole lot about the AMD chipsets or graphics cards. What would you suggest?

Will that budget include monitor, keyboard, mouse?

What about the OS?

CPU- $120 AM3 Triple Core

RAM- Dominator's $72 you could put in cheaper 800 RAM

As shadowpr said, is this suppose to include peripherals? This sits at a little over $300 not including shipping. Do you need a case, PSU, etc?

sorry, no this budget doesn't include monitor, motherboard, or mouse. my main concern is the mobo/video card and maybe a few other cheap products that are reliable that you know of.

thanks!

What about the operating system? Do you already have one, or should that be included in the budget?

Monitor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236056

That will be a basic build. It comes to $523.92 before shipping and before rebates. There are $35 in mail in rebates. You will still need a case.

That will not be a gamer. It will need a video card for that.

That budget is too low to get it all. Either up the budget, or deal with no gaming for now till you can get a video card, and upgrade the power supply. The rest is solid.

thanks shadow. i am going to have to tell him to remove that monitor from his budget because it doesn't seem doable. do you have a video card in mind that will work for that budget and mobo? i was thinking an 8800gt, but it would be too expensive.

Looks like the 4830 would be a really good video card for about $90: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102822

You will also need a better power supply with that video card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341012 (That's as low as I would go.)
