Make sure you have an appropriate power supply. That video card requires a 580 watt ATX 2.x unit. Don't even try to fire it up if you don't have a good one. If she's still there, might want to have her get one of these:

mother board box ..

i want to get a 700w power supply ,, my old pc p4 3ghz , 6200 xfx have lost
power many times and i changed the power supply 2 times

then i must see what brands they have in the local market also
lol its a big jump from the 6200 to the 9800 GTX+

The card will fit on the motherboard - PCI-E is PCI-E - but it may block some ports and you need a good sized case.

What do you have for a power supply?

I am worried about the QUALITY of the power supply. This is very important.

No, the net and sound won't be blocked. One or more of your SATA ports might be. Take the motherboard out of the bag and set it on the table, and insert the video card and *look*.

The motherboard has onboard sound and net, you won't need cards.

if i put it on the PCIe x16_2 black it will block the sata

as you see it will come on the PCIe x16_1 blue and be away from the sata

but it will close the white ports u see the arrows on them they are called

pci ex 1
2

3

are they important ?

A single card goes in the blue slot. Don't worry about the x1 slots if you don't have any cards to put in them.

Sound cards, network cards, TV cards, etc. PCI-Ex1 is replacing legacy PCI.

Onboard sound has come a long way over the years. It works very well for most users. And if you ever want better sound, you can always add a sound card later.

You will have a very reliable system - the 2 most important components are high quality - the motherboard and the power supply.

i have an old flatron ez t711s 22 inch i guess. a very good monitor that worked 24/7 for years now, and have beautiful image ,, but time has changed and i want a new look with my new
video card ...

i am a total nob in monitors . what is plazma and what is lcd and are they better than the normal
screens ? and why ? and which of them is better ? what kinds should i get and all that stuff
lol thanks

note : should i stick with a special monitor size ? coz i only have 512 mb of memory
in the 9800 GTX +

I don't know what the pricing structure in Egypt is, but here the best monitors for the money are 22 inch widescreen LCD's.

Plasma is not used for monitors, just TV's. 24" is fine. LCD is essentially the standard for monitors these days, CRT is obsolete. LCD uses a LOT less electricity and puts off a LOT less heat.

ok what i wanna know now is :

is it worth it to get an lcd monitor and change my lg flatron monitor ? are they much pretty ?

its gonna cost me a lot i guess . i mean in could buy a new vga in couple of years
and update my system with all this money i dont really mind the 2 inch

but is it so different from the regular monitor ?

Obsolete means that it is old technology that most people do not use anymore.

If your LG monitor still works fine, I'd use it. When it dies, then upgrade to an LCD.

LCDs have a sharper picture then CRTs.
