splat New Build - Initial Boot Failure

Hello,

Here are the specs:
ASUS M3A78-EM AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
mushkin 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Desktop Memory Model 991599
Rosewill Stallion Series RD450-2-SB 450W ATX V2.2 Power Supply
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3160813AS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
LG Black SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model DH16NS10
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200 Brisbane 2.7GHz Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor Model ADO5200DOBOX

I am pretty confident that the assembly is in good form. When I power up all fans activate, HDD light flashes, DVDROM light flashes. However, I get no activity on the monitor and there does not seem to be any power on either the mouse or keyboard. I have tried placing the memory in different slots, cleared CMOS and unplugged all SATA drives. I cannot get this machine to even produce the BIOS on screen.

Soooooo frustrating, please help, very very appreciated.

Thanks,
S

Thumbs down out of case boot unsuccessful

Hello,

I ran the out of case operation and still am not getting any bios or screen output. I tried switching the RAM around and was sure that it was docked correctly.

Any other thoughts? Does my RAM require dual channel or can this be run with the one stick that I listed earler?

Also, there is a spot on the mobo for ATX 12V(4-pin) power, however, the PSU (Rosewill) does not have the male connector?

Any suggestions?

It's not going to start without the 24 pin main and the 4 pin ATX power.

Quote:
1 x Main connector (20+4Pin)
1 x 12V (P4)
1 x 12V (8Pin)
6 x peripheral Quick release connectors
2 x SATA
2 x Floppy
1 x PCI-E

Thumbs up Thank you.

Hello,
Thank you very much for your help. It is amazing how helpful it is to just interact with someone else when trying to understand the problem. I am an a$$hole for not figuring this out for myself.
Cheers,
S
