New Build Bootup Problem
While my Monitor is detecting the cable is connecteed,it isn't even detecting the pc is on at all. It goes it sleep mode. I have ran the bare bones trouble shoot, but still get the same problem. I switched my graphics card and RAM, no help there.
What I'm Running currently. Mobo- Bioforce TA790GX 128M w/ ATI Radeon HD 3300 Video Card RAM- Kingston Hyper 24 Pin DD2 PC2 8500 Processor- AMD Phenom 9850 2.5 ghz Quad Core (was combo deal w/ motherboard) Power Supply- PC Power & Cooling 610W model s61EPS Graphics Card- PNY VCG981024GXEB GeForce 9800 GT Monitor- Samsun 21.5 In SincMaster 2233w LCD Monitor I've tried the bare run w/ each graphics drivers and both at the same time. Still nothihng. I've hooked up the speakers, but no sounds. I then tried to use an older monitor that I know works, still to no avail. I have also tried resetting the CMOS, but still can't get anything more through my monitor. THe mother board actually has 3 power hookups. (2 Mains that must be used, plus an additional graphics boost.) I have tried w/just the two main and with the graphics boost, still unsuccessful. Additional Information: I have a nice, full sized Armor tower that has some usb hookups in the top. These plugs are a single row of 5 instead of the double. I tried to install them into the JUSB 1 and 2 (3 pins) that originally had jumper covers on them. And, being the noob that I am, changed my mind and plugged them into the USB 4 and 5 (double row plugs), then finding I've lost the stupid jumper covers. Could this be my problem? Also, upon opening my shipment from NEWEGG, I noted that the processor was out of it's plastic package, but still had the foam pads on each side of it. This is my first brandnew computer in ten years. All others have been handme downs (except for the very first computer I've ever owned back in 99). It's also been my dream to build a computer suited to my needs and style. (Major gaming and graphics and still keep up w/ my multitasking). If anyone can help me figure out where I have screwed up, it would be greatly appreciated. |

Do you get any beeps when you connect the case speaker to the correct header? What about if you remove the ram? Does the CPU heatsink get warm if you let it run for 5 minutes?

No beeps whether or not RAM is in the slot.
Heat sink doesn't really feel warm at all. |

Thinking I may need to have the mobo and cpu tested to make sure they're working right.

If possible test your cpu and motherboard; I've had something similar happen with a motherboard that was DOA (Dead on Arrival). Take a look at your motherboard manual to see if it could be a problem with the USB jumpers.
