Updating BIOS before OS installation?
I just ordered the Asus P5KPL-CM off newegg and one of the reviews recommended updating the BIOS before installing the OS.
Is this really necessary?/How would I go about doing that if so? |

that would all depend on which cpu you choose to use on that motherboard.
go to the download websight and look at the cpu suport page and look up the cpu that you want to use, then you will see which ver bios you will need to support it. I just built a system with that motherboard and it came with the bios ver: 0512 5-19-08 so it a fairly new updated bios and I did not have to update it at all. you may find out the same for your cpu. |

Download the bios update file and extract it to a USB flash key. Put the key in the computer and turn it on. Enter the bios setup and navigate to EZ Flash 2. Update it using the file on the key.
