New Computer Advice

I built my own PC about 5 years ago, and its served well, the only issue I had was overheating at the start, and it took me weeks to get the wiring right to stop this issue, and these days I dont know if I would have time to do another build, or if I could be bothered, especially taking into consideration now seems a good time for PC bargains, as lots of new bits are coming out, so older tech is cheaper. Also cos I'm 5 years behind, I can see a huge performance boost for little money, compared to my initial build which cost over £1000, and is now worth about £150 lol.

Anywayssssss, my budget is MAX £800, I can't go over that, and today I was viewing a very nice Dell XPS 420 system in PC World (I'm in the UK by the way). The system is linked below, it's £799 and this includes a nice 20" screen, I have a monitor already, but its an old 17" Syncmaster, and the power button is damaged, so needs to be replaced really.

The specs are listed there on that page, I dont game on the PC much, hence why I'm not spending as much as my previous build, back then I was a PC freak, but thesedays my gaming is done on consoles mainly, but I would still like the option open as much as......if that makes sense.

My current specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1GB RAM
160GB HDD
GeForce 6800GT
Audigy 2 Platinum Pro Sound

Would this Dell system blow my current PC away? Im guessing it would, the thing that bothers me is integrated sound is usually crap, could I use my Audigy 2 Platinum with the new Dell? also what are Dells like in general? any good?

It comes with everything as a complete setup, except speakers....strange I know, but my Creative Soundworks (Cambridge THX) speakers are still in pristine condition and sound perfect still, so I use those....

My main question is would I get a better spec system than the Dell somewhere else? if so then please show me some ideas....

The Intel HD onboard sound is actually quite good, but your Audigy should work if you prefer it. Dells are decent quality, and if you do not want to buy parts and build your own, that looks like a decent deal.
