Wrong ram, DDR3 is not compatible. You need a video card, but you don't need that cooler. Find a better brand power supply, what you get will be somewhat dependent on what video card you choose.

Moved to BYOPC.

I agree with glc, go with either a Seasonic or FSP power supply

Acronis?

What does "Acronis - HOLD OFF ON THIS" mean?

And I did search high and low, but what section of the forum maintains a current list of recommended parts and suppliers? Thanks for the above repeat.

Acronis is a backup/imaging software. "Hold Off On This" means do not purchase it at this time.
A list of Power Supplies can be found here: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=131195

We do not maintain a master list of recommended parts and suppliers. It would constantly have to be changed, and it also would be too difficult accounting for everyone's opinions.

If I already have an external back up drive do I need this?

APRICORN ADT-KIT 3.5" USB & eSATA External Enclosure - Retail

and the extra 500Gb drive?

And do most people post a list before buying?

I'd like to ask you to please start your own thread for your questions. It's rather rude taking over someone else's thread. Thank you.

If you have a reliable backup drive then you wouldn't need the Apricorn enclosure and HDD.
It is always a good idea to post a list of parts before purchasing. Folks here can help you order your parts so you are certain they are compatible parts and you get the best value for your money.
