MB Install Question
Quick question. I am installing an ASUS Rampage Extreme MB into an Antec 1200 case. The case came with several red washers. Do I need to use these between the screws and the MB when installing in the case? I have installed the stand-offs. This is my first build. Thanks.

No washers are required. Put the screws into the holes with the metal rings.

Thanks all. Just wanted to make sure. The build is complete, just haven't hit the power yet. Hope all goes well. One of those after thoughts that won't go away. Thanks again for the assurance.

Have you tried powering it up outside the case? You really should..........
PROBLEMS with a NEW BUILD? Try This!! I do this with each and every build to make sure the core components are all good. Saves a LOT of hassles tearing things down just in case. |

I have not powered anything yet. I know I should have but figured I would cross my fingers and hope for the best. I have devoted the weekend to tracking down problems if they occur. I'm sure I will encounter some glitches.

You only live once. ![]() Will post results after power up. Thanks again, JT |

Nice build, should be a powerhouse.
You should put it through a couple 3DMark Vantage benchmarks after you get everything sorted out, I'm curious as to the numbers (artificial as they may be).

OK, got it all together and hit the power...nothing, nada. PS fan did not come on so I messed with the plug and tested with multi meter. Good power to the cord. Had a Corsair 750 (ordered before I realized it may not be enough for the 2 X GTX 285's) so I thru that in and it fired right up. Posted first try, typing on it now. I only installed 1 X 285 until I get the 1000 RMA'd.
Will the Corsair 750 handle both cards? Really want both in now, but don't want to mess up a good thing. Thanks for all the input, JT |

You will be fine with the Corsair 750, it supplies 60 A on a single 12v rail, i say throw it in.

Nope, not certified for two GTX285's. The 1000 is the only Corsair that is.

That's what I thought. Guess I'll be waiting for the 1000 to arrive.
Thanks, JT |
