Help I need Advise!!!

hey im am a complete non techi type person but ive been playing computer games for a long time and really sorta want to build my own extreme gaming comp ive been to 25 or 30 different sites trying to find out how to do it and let me tell u it's a bit overwhelming.......so far i've come up with a cpu and a mother board but really have no idea what i need from this point the two components ive decided on(and yes i know the price....price isn't to much of an issue...although buying from a retailer price is).....is a for mother board a Intel DX58SO, and for cpu a intel extreme i7 965....id love for someone to tell me what i need from this point.....

Welcome to pcmech forums, you have come to the right place to learn how to build a pc.
You don't need extreme hardware to game really well.
You should be able to build a machine that will own any game out there for around $1500, you can even spend less and build a very solid gaming machine.
If you have not built a machine before my advise is to start with something not "extreme" the more extreme you go the more complicated and troublesome they can get. Decide on a budget and we can start helping you.
