Need Some Help

Alright, I have a rig set up that was working fine in my last case. I bought a new case to give me old one to my dad who needed it. I have put everything in the way it was, and it started up once. It told me to insert a boot disc or to re-organize my boot order. This did not happen before, so I restarted it and went into the bios. Everything was the way it should have been, and everything is hooked up. So I switched the order of the ribbon cable hookup, and turned it back on. The computer got to starting up, then just went to a really slow running, and didn't display anything. I am in the process of moving, so unfortunately I don't have all the specs for it right off the top of my head. I have a USB keyboard hooked up to it, and the LED light on it comes on, and then goes off. I am trying to figure out what it could be without paying someone like Best Buy 100 bucks just to look at it. Any help would be appreciated.
