SemiPro Video Editing PC

Hello all been a while since i posted.
As you can tell from my signature my PC is old and not up to par with some of the new systems out there.
I have been working on a project for the last 3 years interviewing women who have been involved in home crafting in the Illinois/Indiana area. Most of the ladies I interview are 90 years old or older.
The purpose of the documentary I am creating is to attempt and preserve the skills and crafts these ladies used and carried over from their mothers and grandmothers.
Anyways, I am sure most of you are on the verge of dying of boredom by now so I will move to my question.
I have received a long awaited grant plus my brother who is a business owner donated some money to help me get all the right equipment and software.
He recommended that I post on here and get advice from everyone here before he built me the system.
I am going to be using the following software:
Corel Video Studio X2
Adobe Premier Pro CS4 http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/

I am looking to have my brother build me a pc with a 64 bit Operating system so I can have as much memory as possible.
Here is my video camera Canon XH A1S http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...elTechSpecsAct

Any recommendations will be most appreciated.
p.s. my budget is $2400 including buying 2 22" Samsung LCD panel monitors.

With that budget, the best performance will be with an Intel i7 build. However, we aren't that pleased with the stability yet. To be safe, I'd probably go with a higher end socket 775 quad such as a Q9550 or Q9650 - or whatever AMD's top end quads are these days.

Here is what I am thinking:

2 X AMD Opteron 2376 Shanghai 2.3GHz 45nm Socket F 75W Quad-Core
TYAN S2932G2NR-E Thunder n3600M Dual 1207(F) NVIDIA nForce Professional 3600
4 X 2GB 800MHz CL6 ECC Module $46 each
2 X Western Digital RE3 WD1002FBYS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Storage Drives Chassis has room for more if you need it later.
Western Digital VelociRaptor WD3000HLFS 300GB 10000 RPM Editing Drive
PNY VCQFX570-PCIE-PB Quadro FX570 256MB
2 X Sony Optiarc Black 24X DVD
Microsoft Windows Vista Business SP1 64-bit
CHIEFTEC Dragon DA-01BD-U-OP Not the best looking case but perfect for this project.
FSP Group FSP600-80GHN 20+4Pin 600W Single Server Power Supply
2 X ASUS VW224U Black 22" 2ms(GTG) These are just as good as the Samsung and $100 less each

You can go with Intel, you need to swap out the motherboard, Processors and Memory Modules.

TYAN S5396A2NRF Tempest i5400XT Dual LGA 771 Intel 5400

2 X Intel Xeon E5410 Harpertown 2.33GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 771
4 x Crucial 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 FB-DIMM ECC Fully Buffered DDR2 667
The Intel system will be a bit over your budget, the AMD will be around $2300
Either system will do the job and do it very nicely, will also give you the ability to expand your horizons later if you become more involved with video editing on a more professional basis.
