hi.
i want to build an HTPC and use my 50" plasma as the monitor. it has a monitor in jack on the TV (though not an HDMI input, as the set is an older model). my question is this: 1. what specs do i need to get high resolution on my HD plasma screen? thanks. -daniel. |

This means your TV is a 720 at most. You don't even need a video card to get max resolution on that TV.
You need a good processor like an Intel Core 2 Duo (any core 2 duo will do it) or an AMD Triple Core Phenom II with a stable Asus motherboard. Here is a great board for this kind of system. If you end up getting an HDMI TV it is already ready for it. http://www.asus.com/Product.aspx?P_ID=jR7eO7eY08cBntsR
