advice on new pc
Popping into PC world to have a look around today saw a few nice ones on there site!
Dell Studio 540/6161 4gb Mem 4MB of cache, Acer Aspire x3200/9650 or a HP pavilion slimline s3811uk 3 gb mem Any of these look any good? Im Not a pc building type at all! I will be using it for mainly internet browsing and i might get back into PC gaming.. On a lower level! so nothing like crysis! If any of you have the time do you thin you could have a browse on pc worlds website and see if there is anything else thats you could recomend..... i wouldnt mind getting a laptop as long as it has gaming capabilities! |

The first 2 systems have on-board video only, the Dell would be a middle of the road gamer.
The 4th one would be a reasonable gamer also.

Sorry to be a pain but would a HP pavilion p6004uk be ok
Specs are AMD Sempron 2300 Dual-Core (1.58GHz, 256KB Cache) Genuine Windows Vista® Home Premium 3GB DDR2 memory 320GB SATA hard drive NVIDIA® GeForce 7100 graphics Dual Layer DVD Rewriter 6x USB ports 10/100 network LAN Will be either updating the graphics card to a Niv 9800GT or more likely as its over 150 quid less the 9400GT.... and eventually a wireless network card? Any opinons? |

Adding a high end video card to a Dell or HP is tough because they won't have a strong enough power supply for it. The gaming PC you listed the specs for would be best if thats the route you want to go.

Just wondering if either of these pcs would be any good for gaming as well as internet browsing and watching films?

Threads merged and moved to BYOPC.
Neither one of those are gamers, and from what I hear, Advent quality is not good. |

Advent is garbage. Between the 3 name brands your best bet is an HP but see non of them build real gaming machines, even when they claim they are.
If you can't swap out the motherboard and video card on a system when you need to then you don't have a gaming machine. A gaming machine should be flexible and upgradeable. Your best bet is to try and find a reputable local system builder that you can talk to face to face.
