Building First Pc
Ok I admit that I have never done this before but i have been looking at lots of videos on the internet and on dvds etc and I wil now like to try my hands at building my own pc. I need advice on parts to choose. I just basically want to build a computer for building it sake...I'm not really going to use it much except probably basic surfing the internet checking mail etc cause i already have a laptop so the cheapest I can get this thing done, the easier it is.
I am from Trinidad and tobago so I will appreciate it you all can recommend parts from this website I am about to show you as it is in my country http://www.supertechtt.com You will have to download the price list. Thanks. 1 US dollar is 6.3 TT dollars |

why would i download from a site that i do not know and looks suspect at the same time?
if its for building one just to build one go with a g31 chipset, intel e5200 cpu, 2x1gb corsair memory, antec basic power supply, any case that fits the motherboard, liteon dvd, wd cavair black hard drive. Last edited by jdeb; 05-26-2009 at 08:23 PM. |

![]() Slingshot, what is your budget roughly? "Cheap as possible" can still be a wide range depending on who you ask. Also, do you need a monitor/keyboard/mouse/Windows, or just the box?

Does that budget also include an operating system?
jdeb, if you don't want to help for whatever reason, just move on and don't make a post for the sake of making a post and annoying the other members. |

Here is something that will surf the net and also do a lot more if you decide to do more with it.

I just downloaded the pricelist - the choices you have are very slim, I don't see any affordable power supply that I would trust and the motherboard choices are very limited. Maybe Khalil can pick out something that won't blow up in your face - the only Intel board is quite expensive and he knows the budget end of AMD a lot better than I do.
Don't worry about the safety of the download - it's a simple Excel spreadsheet with no macros. |

Linkworld Ninja Cases Clear Side 500Watts Thermaltake Power Supply Biostar MCP6P-M2 AM2+ PCI-E DDR2 AMD Athlon 5400+ X2 Dual Core 2GB DDR2 800 Seagate 320GB Hard Drive SATA II 16MB Cache Samsung DVD+/-RW DL 22X (Black) SATA Logitech Deluxe Keyboard And Mouse EVGA 9400GT 512MB PCI-E DDR2 + DVI This is from the Excel Sheet. You looking at 3180 Trinidad Dollars or US$477. For the most part the Excel list includes junk for hardware. Good luck Last edited by Khalil; 05-27-2009 at 01:47 PM. |

I don't see where that is referenced anywhere on the site - and besides, that's a legitimate utility. Frequently, legitimate utilities trigger resident protection due to the nature of how they operate. My antivirus drives me nuts every time I open my utilities folder or plug in my USB stick, it HATES the Magical Jellybean keyfinder, among others.

Ok... I have never seen that before and I got a little nervous after I clicked on the download link. I was using the wife's pc which I rarely do. It didn't do it from my laptop last night though... strange one, I will have to look that up.

I think your wife's PC may have some critters in it from something else.
