Partial New Build
I'm looking to do a partial new Intel Core i7build. Yes, I know the socket is being changed in the near future, I plan on not upgrading this CPU/Mobo for 2-3 years, in which time there will likely be a new socket anyways.
I'm going to be keeping the following parts from my previous build, and donating the parts that I replace to a new PC for the girlfriend: Case - Antec Nine Hundred - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129021 HDD - Two WD drives, 320GB and 500GB DVD - Pioneer 20X SATA - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827129020 GPU - ATi Radeon HD 4870 512 MB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102748 Will consider adding another video card in xfire in the coming months. New Stuff: Mobo - ASUS P6T - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131359 CPU - Intel Core i7 920 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115202 PSU - Corsair 620W Modular - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139002 RAM - G.SKILL 6GB DDR3 1600 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231225 I'm mostly getting the new PSU because the clutter with my old PSU just drives me nuts. Can't really afford to upgrade the Mobo/CPU/RAM much further. Oh, and I'll likely be running Windows 7 64-bit RC1 on this until the real thang comes out this winter. I'm also going to be overclocking the i7 slightly (3.4GHz max, probably) and am looking for a quality aftermarket CPU cooler, preferably in the $40-$60 range. I'll research this tomorrow, but very open to any suggestions you all have. Let me know what you think and any suggestions you all may have. Thanks in advance.
