Upgrades to my computer

You guys helped me build a computer a few months ago and I ended up with a lot better job than I thought I would have and now have extra cash. I'm buying a new monitor first, but I figured I'd upgrade my video card and/or processor sometime in the near future. I'm just making sure my motherboard will be fine if I do this, and wondering at what point a better power supply and/or fans and cool systems are needed?

Edit: Also, it seems my onboard audio doesn't support surround sound? Does that mean I should just buy a cheap sound card? And btw, I'm not planning on buying the upgrades right away, but is there a usual time or season when its good to buy parts? Like fall, before christmas, after christmas, etc?

So I just wanted some advice on what the best things to upgrade would be. I use it mainly for gaming and multi-tasking. The OS is windows XP. Below I have what is currently in it.

Unless your system is lagging with some game, which I doubt it is, any upgrading at this point would be a waste of money. Your hardware is almost new.
Cheap sound cards are just that, they won't be much better than the onboard sound and will fail in no time.
Here is a good bug free Sound card for about $50 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16829111002

I agree with Khalil. There's not much that makes sense for you to do at this point. In terms of monitors, I believe Samsungs are amazing quality but quite $$$. I have a Hanns-G which I love; they're good units, and a good deal cheaper than the "big name" monitors.

Honestly the only thing that I thought might be improved on my computer right now would be the speed for multi-tasking. Especially if I decide to use 2 monitors at the same time. But I figured the best way to do that would be ram or processor speed and I don't really want to use vista for 64 bit to be able to use more ram. So I'll just save up money and be able to buy some really good stuff when I need to in the future.
